New goals are great result for Keynsham Walking Football

KEYNSHAM WALKING FOOTBALL

KEYNSHAM Walking Football has bought four sets of goals (12ft by 6ft) with the help of a grant from the Football Foundation.

The club plays at the AJN Stadium (home of Keynsham Town Football Club) and have used five-a-side goals for many years.

However, the 12ft by 6ft goals have become standard now for walking football and are used in both the Somerset and Gloucester County Walking Football Leagues.

In these leagues, we have entered a total of seven teams this season, in the over 50s, 60s and 70s categories. So it helps to use the same standard for practice and competition.

The club has more than 150 members, who play on Tuesdays (10am to 11am) for over 65s, and Thursdays (8pm to 9pm) and Fridays (10am to 11am) for over 50s.

The club uses a ‘turn up and play’ policy, where the first session is free, but for further details please mail  keynshamtownwf@gmail.com. Apart from playing, the club has an active social side and has raised more than £30,000 for good causes since it was formed.
