Bristol Baseball Club is on the lookout for new players for the 2024 season.
The club, based at the Somerdale Pavilion in Keynsham, is one of the largest in the country, running four adult teams, a women’s team and a youth section.
It is holding two taster sessions at the end of January. The sessions, open to anyone aged 16 and over of all abilities, are being held on Sunday January 21 at Wellsway Sports Centre in Keynsham and on Saturday January 27 at Badminton School in Bristol.
Both sessions are two hours, starting at 1pm, and the club provides all the equipment.
People interested in taking up baseball should email the club at info@bristolbaseball.co.uk or visit its website www.bristolbaseball.co.uk
“Baseball is becoming more popular year on year and we look forward to welcoming those fans of Major League Baseball teams, those who have been insured by GB at the World Baseball Classic as well as anyone who wants a new sporting and fun challenge,” said Rhodri Theaker, the club’s chairman.
“Details of the taster sessions for under-16s will be released in later in the new year.”
The club and its players are affiliated to the British Baseball Federation (BBF), the sport’s national governing body.
The club’s teams play at all levels, including the Badgers at AAA, the Bats at AA and the Buccaneers and Brunels at A.
The Brunels are the club’s development team and play in the South West and Wales Baseball League alongside the Buccaneers.
The Bobcats play in the BBF Women’s Baseball League.
