A HOT-AIR balloon festival in Saltford really took off for its debut event, thanks to a mix of music, colour and community spirit.
The successful festival was hosted by Bath Hot Air Balloon Club at Snake Meadows on July 19.
Throughout the day, hot-air balloons of all different shapes and sizes were tethered in the main arena.
Meanwhile, tribute artists showcased the sounds of Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran, while main act Miami Vibe closed the evening with a nostalgic 80s set.
The festival – which was blessed with fine weather – was the vision of balloon pilot Jerry Davis, founder of the Bath Hot Air Balloon Club and owner of Snake Meadows.
He praised his events team for working with Bath and North East Somerset Council to address concerns around local traffic, safety, and attendance capacity.
Jerry said: “It’s been a lot of hard work, from securing a premises license to getting approval from BANES council, but it all paid off, as evidenced by the event on the day and the feedback we have received from attendees.
“We have an amazing set of volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the success and a positive experience for all those who attended.”
Bath Hot Air Balloon Club is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers.
The festival raised £2,500 for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, the club’s chosen charity.
Planning for next year’s festival is already underway and will follow the same format, with a focus on family fun.
