Keynsham Winter Festival sparkles

THOUSANDS of people flocked to Keynsham Winter Festival as celebrations of the festive season got under way.

Families, friends, and neighbours came together across all areas of the town centre – including the High Street, Temple Street, Market Walk, Riverside Square, the Library, the Space, the leisure centre, Methodist church and Baptist church – to enjoy a variety of entertainment, activities, and community events.

They enjoyed live performances on the main stage and Choir Corner in Temple Court, a fun fair, stalls, a tinsel trail, Christmas story time, face painting, Punch & Judy shows, craft sessions, and Santa’s Grotto.

A tree of remembrance in the library displayed baubles decorated in tribute to loved ones. Window displays throughout the town centre reflected the theme of Sparkly Lights, Starry Nights.

New attractions at the festival on November 29 included Merlin the Magician, the princesses from Frozen, Super Pirates, and a Christmas singalong.

Dial-a-Ride ran a shuttle service throughout the day to the festival, which was organised by Keynsham Town Council.

Events at the festival were sponsored by Smart Computers, IJ McGill, Bargain Booze, Simply Carpets, Muse Dental, W&W Memorials, FDC Law Solicitors, Dyenamix Hair & Beauty, Wards Solicitors, Meryton Place, Pie & Lattes Pilates Studio, Olivias Boutique, Rose Holistic Therapies, and White Space decluttering services.

Katherine Sears, deputy town clerk, said: “The Winter Festival continues to be a cornerstone event for Keynsham, drawing crowds from across the region and giving local businesses a festive boost at the start of the holiday season, and bringing our community together. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back next year.”
