Keynsham mini-roundabout scheme completed

A NEW mini-roundabout has been installed at the junction of Charlton Road and Charlton Park in Keynsham.

Bath & North East Somerset Council said it had replaced the previous T-junction to improve safety by reducing the speed of traffic. As part of the scheme, parts of the road have been resurfaced and the pavement widened. Road markings have also been refreshed.

Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for highways, said: “Charlton Road sees a lot of vehicle traffic and we wanted to reduce vehicle speeds and make the junction with Charlton Park safer for everyone, including pedestrians.

“Alongside the new roundabout we’ve narrowed the existing crossing point there as well as other improvements.”

Construction of the mini-roundabout took three weeks. The road was kept open, with traffic controlled with temporary signals.
