PEOPLE are being advising to plan their journeys between April 15 and 20 when work to resurface Bath Hill in Keynsham is carried out.
Work is set to start around 7pm on Monday April 15 and is expected to finish by Saturday April 20, depending on weather. A full road closure will be in place between 7pm and 7am each day.
Bath & North East Somerset Council is carrying out the work overnight to reduce disruption in Bath Hill, which links Wellsway and the Bath Road to the centre of Keynsham.
Bath Hill East and Fox and Hounds car parks will also be closed between 7pm and 7am during the work. Advanced warning signs are in place notifying motorists of the closures and will remain throughout the work. Customers paying for their parking via MiPermit will also be notified. Alternative parking options in Keynsham can be found on the council’s website.
The resurfacing will include both roundabouts near Keynsham Memorial Park. Lining works will also be completed.
Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for transport said: “We’re keeping disruption to a minimum by carrying out these works during overnight closures, meaning the road can be open for peak travel times.
“We know these types of works can be an inconvenience, but they are essential to keep our highway network at a high standard.”
B&NES will put in place diversion routes for traffic and temporary variable messaging signs at strategic locations. Diversion routes can be seen on one.network.
The council recently announced its resurfacing programme for 2024-25, with locations and dates on the council’s website.
