WORK to paint double yellow lines on Keynsham High Street between the cycle lane and carriageway and a broken white line at the edge of the cycle lane will be carried out overnight tonight (April 11).
The street will be closed from 7pm for one night to avoid disruption during the day.
The work follows recommendations from a safety audit carried out at the request of Bath & North East Somerset Council and is designed to provide extra visual cues for pedestrians as they cross the street.
Councillor Paul Roper, cabinet member for economic and cultural sustainable development, said: “This mitigation should make the change in levels clearer to pedestrians and prevent further trips and falls.”
The council says residents and businesses have been informed of the work in advance.
