THE A4 from Uploads Road in Saltford to the Globe roundabout will be closed overnight for about two weeks next month to allow resurfacing to take place.
Work is due to start on Tuesday May 6, with a road closure in place from 8pm to 7am. Traffic marshals will be on site during the project.
As reported in last month’s Voice, a total of 19,630 square metres of road surface will be improved by Bath & North East Somerset Council at a cost of £755,000.
The council, which is working in partnership with its contractor, Volker Highways, says residents will need to make their own arrangements to find alternative parking, including disabled parking. Vehicles parked in the area may be removed to avoid the work being delayed.
Restricted access for residents with driveways onto the A4 will be maintained when it is safe to do so and as site operations allow, but there may be times when access is not possible.
Diversion routes will be in place and advance notices set up along the route to warn drivers of the closure.
Bus operators have been informed and will re-route services if necessary. Emergency services will always be given access.
The council says it will try to ensure waste collections are not disrupted, although there may be times when this is not possible.
