A COFFEE morning at Keynsham Cricket Club has raised £1,620 for Cancer Research UK.
It was the club’s third annual coffee morning in support of Daniel Money’s campaign to support the charity, which has so far raised more than £60,000.
Daniel, a junior doctor, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in November 2022 at the age of 24. During his treatment, he has also been involved in fundraising events through his giving pages on the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) website.
The cricket club coffee morning attracted more than 100 people, with money being raised by the sale of coffee, tea and cake, as well as a raffle.
Daniel’s mum, Sarah Stone, said: “Over the past three annual coffee mornings at KCC, we have now raised a fantastic total of £5,490.
“The total for Daniel’s CRUK fundraising is now over £61,500, an incredible amount of money raised in just over two years.
“It’s hard to explain how grateful we and Daniel are as a family, for all the support we have received, not solely in terms of fundraising, from friends and the local Keynsham community.”
Sarah expressed her thanks to the club for hosting the event at its pavilion and to the coffee morning team of Pete and Julie Tweedie, Lou Riddoch, Denise Kay, Rachel Murch, Chris Westgate, Sharon Williams, Teresa Phillips and Helen Stone.
