YOUNGSTERS from Keynsham Town Football Club took centre stage when the under-7s team proudly stepped out as mascots for the senior side against Welton Rovers at the AJN Stadium.
They had the chance to meet members of the first-team squad, ask questions and soak up the pre-match atmosphere on Saturday February 7.
Before kick-off, they lined up at the changing-room entrance to welcome the senior team onto the pitch, waving flags and greeting the players.
At half-time, the youngsters took to the pitch themselves for a six-a-side match, playing two five-minute halves in front of the crowd, with pop-up goals and pitch markers set out especially for them.
After cheering on the senior side during the second half, the day rounded off with food in the clubhouse before the final whistle at 4.45pm.
Under-7s player Luka said: “It was fun and I loved waving the flags.”
Team-mate Owen said: “It was amazing and I liked meeting the players.”
