WELLSWAY School and IKB Academy are celebrating the achievements of their Year 13 students following the publication of A Level and vocational qualification results.
Amy Chapman, director of sixth form, said: “I am incredibly proud of our students and all that they have achieved.
“It has been a privilege to support them during their time in the sixth form and to see them grow not only academically but also as young people.”
Rob Pearsall, headteacher, said: “Days like today are an opportunity to celebrate the remarkable young people our students have become, and the bright futures that lie ahead of them.
“Their success reflects years of hard work, determination and perseverance, supported by dedicated staff and families who have championed them every step of the way.”
There are many outstanding achievements to celebrate this year. Fergus achieved A* grades in Mathematics and Physics alongside a Distinction in Engineering and will progress into aerospace. Frayja secured an A* in Business together with A grades in Mathematics and Economics and will study Economics at the University of Exeter, while Oscar achieved an A* in Mathematics alongside A grades in Economics and Further Mathematics and will go on to study Economics at the University of Nottingham.
Emily excelled across a broad range of subjects, achieving AAAA in Film Studies, History, Textiles and Core Mathematics, and will study Film Studies at the University of Warwick.
Aalia achieved AAA in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics and will begin a Medicine degree at the University of Leeds, while Aiken’s achievements, including an A in Mathematics alongside strong performances in Computing, Further Mathematics and Physics, have secured him a place studying Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science at the University of Birmingham.
Wellsway School was also proud to celebrate the achievements of Joshua, who joined Wellsway for sixth form and achieved grades in Mathematics, Physics and Computing before securing a place at the University of Gloucestershire to study Computer Games Design.
At IKB Academy, Oscar achieved strong results in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Core Mathematics and will progress to the University of Bristol to study Palaeontology and Evolution, while Emily will go on to study Nursing at the University of York.
There were also successful outcomes for students completing T-Levels in Construction, alongside students who have secured apprenticeships.
Students will now progress to a wide range of destinations including Medicine, Economics, Artificial Intelligence, Film Studies, Nursing, Geography and Palaeontology at universities across the country, alongside apprenticeships in finance, retail, quantity surveying, construction, engineering, IT and communications, as well as careers within the Royal Air Force and a range of other employment opportunities.
