WELLSWAY School’s Year 11 students have secured an excellent set of GCSE results after five years of hard work, determination and resilience.
Across the year group, 61% of students achieved passes in both English and Mathematics at Grade 5 or above, while 80% secured passes in both subjects at Grade 4 or above. Students achieved an average grade of 5.2 across all GCSE entries.
Headteacher Rob Pearsall said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and everything they have achieved.
“When I think about the class of 2026, I think about their kindness, humour, inclusivity and the way they have consistently supported one another. They have embraced opportunities, overcome challenges and made a positive contribution to our school community. They should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved.”
In a range of fantastic results, there were some exceptional individual achievements.
These include: Louis (nine Grade 9s and one Grade 8); Alfie (nine Grade 9s and one Grade 7); Chelsy (six Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and two Grade 7s); Daisy (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s); Bernice (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s); Molly (five Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6); Clarice (five Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6); Isla (five Grade 9s, one Grade 8, two Grade 7s and two Grade 6s); Jack (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s, one Grade 7 and one Grade 5); Luca (five Grade 9s, one Grade 8, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6); and Edward (four Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, two Grade 7s and one Grade 6).
Many students will continue their education at Wellsway as part of Futura Sixth, where they will study a broad range of academic and vocational qualifications and continue their journey towards university, apprenticeships and future careers.
