Wellsway and IKB students celebrate A-Level results

STUDENTS at Wellsway School and IKB Academy in Keynsham have been praised for their hard work, resilience and commitment after receiving their results in A-Level and vocational qualifications.

Amy Chapman, director of post-16, said: “I am extremely proud of all our students. So many have worked exceptionally hard and clearly been rewarded for their ability to adapt and maintain a sustained focus on their learning.”

Rob Pearsall, headteacher, said: “We would like to thank the students and teachers for their hard work, and the parents for their support, over the last seven years.”

Peter Headeach, head of school at IKB Academy, commented: “At IKB, we are incredibly proud of how our students have embraced every opportunity and challenge. Their achievements reflect academic success, personal growth and resilience.”

Students who received notable results included:

Bethany achieving 5 A* in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry*

Janos achieving 4 A* in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Edison achieving 4 A* in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Mindy achieving 3 A* in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Toby achieving 4 A* in Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Extended Project.

Sophia achieving A* A and B in English Language, English Literature and Philosophy.

Mark achieving 2 A* and 2 As in Geography, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics.

Oscar achieving 3 A* and 1 A in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Students who made significant progress over the two years included Klea, Oliver, Raph, Jonathan, Florence and Noah.

Almost all students achieved grades that have enabled them to successfully progress to the next stage of their chosen route in education, training or employment.

They have gained university places to study a diverse range of subjects, such as Medicine and Natural Science at the University of Cambridge, Physics at Imperial College London, Computer Science and Accounting and Finance at the University of Bristol, and Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Southampton.

Several students have gained apprenticeships and employment. Oliver has a degree apprenticeship in Nuclear Engineering, Izzy has gained a finance apprenticeship, Frazer is working in Engineering and Ethan has an apprenticeship with the National Motorsports Academy.
