GCSE results achieved by students at Wellsway School and IKB Academy have been hailed as a validation of their resilience and hard work.
Headteacher Rob Pearsall said: “This year group has grown into thoughtful, capable and compassionate young adults. We are proud not just of their grades, but of the people they have become.”
Exceptional Wellsway results this year included the following:
Nicholas (eight Grade 9s and two Grade 8); Heidi (five Grade 9s, four Grade 8s); George (six Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and one Grade 7); Rafi (seven Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and two Grade 7s); Samuel (seven Grade 9s, one Grade 8 and two Grade 7s); Alexander (four Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and two Grade 7s); Amelie (two Grade 9s and seven Grade 8s and one Grade 7); Dorothy (two Grade 9s, four Grade 8s and three Grade 7s); Jared (two Grade 9s, four Grade 8s, three Grade 7s and one Grade 6); Toby (four Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, and two Grade 7s).
Mr Pearsall added: “As executive headteacher of both Wellsway School and IKB Academy, I am equally proud of the exceptional achievements of IKB students.
“Their commitment to learning and passion for STEM subjects have led to another year of outstanding GCSE results.”
IKB’s success stories included:
Jack achieved top grades including Grade 9s in Spanish, Physics, Maths, and Chemistry, alongside strong results in Biology, English Literature, Art, Language, and Music.
Isaac earned Grade 9s in English Literature and Maths, with high marks across Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, and Music. Isaac also has a 9 in Spanish, which he completed in year 10.
Josh impressed with Grade 9s in Product Design and Physics, a Distinction* in Engineering, and a Distinction in Construction, showcasing his talent in both academic and vocational subjects.
Kat secured Grade 9s in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, with excellent results in Biology and Geography, and solid performances across the arts and English.
Jakub achieved Grade 8 in Maths, Distinction* in Engineering, Distinction in Construction, and Grade 7s in Chemistry, Computing, and Physics.
