Baseball taster sessions at Wellsway School

BRISTOL Baseball Club is running taster sessions at Wellsway School in Keynsham for those interested in playing for the club in 2026.

A session for adult men and women will be held on Sunday January 25 at 1pm.

There will be two sessions for youth players aged between six and 14 – on Sunday February 15 and Sunday March 29. Both start at 1pm.

A specific session for women and girls will be held at the school on Sunday March 29 from 3pm.

The club will also hold a session for adult men and women at Badminton School Sports Centre in Bristol on Saturday January 17, starting at 1.30pm.

Club chairman Rhodri Theaker said: “The club is always on the lookout for players of any experience to join the biggest club in the South West.
“We provide all the equipment needed for the tasters, which will be run by qualifies coaches.”

Bristol Baseball Club, based at Somerdale in Keynsham, runs four teams and the Bolts youth programme and is looking to kickstart its women’s team for the coming season.

The club has been one of the most successful in the country, with the Badgers reaching the national AAA playoffs for the last five years.

In 2025 the Buccaneers won the A regional championship and reached the national semi-finals.

The Bats have reached the national AA playoffs while the Brunels, the club’s development team, has established itself as one of the best for helping players develop.
