STUDENTS, families and staff at IKB Academy are celebrating GCSE results, recognising the achievements of a year group that has shown tremendous growth, resilience and determination throughout their time at the academy.
Head of school, Peter Headeach, said: “Every student has their own story, and we are proud of the progress they have made, the challenges they have overcome and the ambitions they have for the future. We look forward to seeing them continue to succeed in the years ahead.”
Several students achieved particularly strong GCSE and vocational outcomes.
Sonny achieved a Grade 8 in Physics and Grade 7s in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Product Design and Computing, alongside a Distinction in Engineering.
Sam achieved a Grade 8 in History, Grade 7 in Mathematics, Grade 7 in Drama and Grade 7-7 in Combined Science, as well as Distinctions in Engineering and Construction. He will now begin an apprenticeship with BMT.
Ava secured a Grade 8 in History, Grade 6 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics and Grade 6 in English Language and English Literature, alongside a Merit in Engineering.
Kaspian achieved a Grade 8 in Geography, Grades 7 and 6 across the sciences and a Merit in Engineering.
Finn achieved Distinctions in Construction and Engineering, Grade 7 in Chemistry, Grade 7 in Product Design, and Grade 6s in Mathematics and Physics.
Taya’s results including a Grade 7 in English Literature, Grade 6 in Art, Grade 6 in Biology, and Grade 5s in Mathematics and Product Design.
The academy was also delighted to celebrate Fin, who secured all the grades required to pursue his ambition of working within the police service.
Rob Pearsall, executive head teacher, said: “It has been a privilege to watch this cohort grow over the past two years. They leave us with skills, experiences and ambitions that will serve them well in the future, and we are excited to see what they achieve next.”
